Passes will be available through the USC Transportation purchasing portal starting Jan. 2.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Starting in the Fall 2023 semester, USC Transportation is partnering with LA Metro to expand the existing U-Pass program &#8211; it is now available to <strong>ALL<\/strong> current USC students (both Graduate students and Undergraduates), and is available at no additional cost (the cost of the program is included in the Transportation Fee being charged to all registered students at USC). The U-Pass allows USC students unlimited rides on LA Metro\u2019s rail and bus lines for any given semester. You DO have to re-register every semester in which you want one, but you <strong>DO NOT<\/strong> need a new card every time &#8211; if you <strong>already have<\/strong> a U-Pass issued by our office from a previous semester, you should choose the &#8220;RENEWAL&#8221; option during the purchasing process.<\/p>\n<p>You may have seen an LA Metro brochure as a general program summary, but we have also created <em><a href=\"https:\/\/transnet-dev.usc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Fall-2023-Instructions.pdf\"><strong>a set of complete step-by-step instructions for you to follow<\/strong><\/a>. <\/em>If you need help or have any questions about the program, please contact USC Transportation&#8217;s Rideshare Coordinator via email at <a href=\"mailto:tsubsidy@usc.edu\">tsubsidy@usc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The start date for Spring is <strong>January 8<\/strong>. The end date is technically May 26, although the purchase portal will reflect the end of our semester date, May 12, so that you have a chance to &#8220;purchase&#8221; a new one in Summer (otherwise the dates would overlap and conflict).<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>The U-Pass looks like this, and is valid for travel on <strong>ALL<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metro.net\/riding\/guide\/system-maps\/\">LA Metro bus and rail lines<\/a>, as well as select partner agencies (see list below).<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/transnet-dev.usc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/U-Pass-image.jpg\" width=\"232\" height=\"147\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE CAN I USE THE U-PASS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The U-Pass is valid on the following transit agencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Metro buses and trains. This includes the Metro Rapid bus lines, the Red, Blue, Green, Gold and Expo rail lines, as well as regular Metro buses including Zones 1.<\/li>\n<li>LADOT \u2013 DASH buses only. This does not include other LADOT transit services like Commuter Express.<\/li>\n<li>Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. If you have issues using your U-Pass on Big Blue Bus please contact their customer service line at (310) 451-5444.<\/li>\n<li>Culver City Bus<\/li>\n<li>Norwalk Transit System<\/li>\n<li>Torrance Transit<\/li>\n<li>Gardena Transit<\/li>\n<li>Long Beach Transit<\/li>\n<li>Foothill Transit (excluding commuter express lines: 490, 493, 495, 498, 499, 699)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The pass is not valid on any other services, such as Metrolink, Amtrak, and LAX FlyAway.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you need help or have any questions about the program, please contact USC Transportation&#8217;s Rideshare Coordinator via email at <a href=\"mailto:tsubsidy@usc.edu\">tsubsidy@usc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--Enable the following section in early December when ready to sell the pass.--><\/p>\n<p><!--\nSales will begin on December 30, 2013.\n\nDistribution of cards will start on January 7, 2013 until we are sold out.\n\nOnce you receive the confirmation email from\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:gsgcamp@usc.edu\">gsgcamp@usc.edu<\/a>\u00a0within 2-3 business days, please come to the Graduate Student Government office in the Tutor Campus Center, Monday-Thursday between 10 am and 4 pm OR M-Th 12 PM-1 PM and F 1:30 PM-2:30 PM on the Health Science Campus in room SRH101A.\n\nThe cards become active on the first day of the spring semester, January 13, 2014.
